Overview
Aaron’s Backyard is a Roatan Marine Park mooring site in the Half Moon Bay corridor, positioned along a section of wall where the reef has developed a particularly lush covering of soft corals and sponges. The “backyard” feel comes from the site’s relatively intimate scale, with a well-defined reef top leading to a wall that feels like a personal discovery rather than a vast expanse. Redband parrotfish and princess parrotfish crunch on the coral, while tiger groupers lurk beneath table corals watching for prey. The wall features prominent tube sponges in shades of blue and purple, and divers working along the face at mid-depth may encounter a resident green moray at one of the established cleaning stations.
