Dixies is a wall dive site in Roatán, Caribbean.
Overview
Dixie’s features an impressive underwater wall cut through with inviting channels that draw divers deeper into the reef. The reef descends from the iron shore coastline, with large sandy patches breaking up the coral and sand channels running perpendicular to the coast. A gentle slope leads from the reef crest down to where the wall begins its vertical plunge. The combination of shallow reef terrain and the nearby wall makes Dixie’s suitable for both divers exploring the drop-off and snorkelers enjoying the sunlit shallows above. Schools of horse-eye jacks occasionally sweep through the channels, and spotted drumfish hide beneath the ledges.
