Gerri’s Gem is a wall dive site in Roatán, Caribbean.

Overview

Gerri’s Gem is a Roatan Marine Park mooring along the wall system approaching Half Moon Bay, and it earns its name through the quality of its coral coverage and marine life encounters. The wall here is particularly well-adorned with large sea fans that extend outward from the face, catching the light in ways that make this section photogenic throughout the day. Indigo hamlets and shy hamlets, two of the Caribbean’s more elusive small reef fish, have been spotted along the wall. Barrel sponges of unusual size grow at mid-depth, and the wall edge is a reliable place to watch for passing eagle rays and the occasional hawksbill turtle descending from the surface.
