Lara’s Rainbows is a wall dive site in Roatán, Caribbean.

Overview

Lara’s Rainbows is a Roatan Marine Park mooring site along the West End wall, and the name hints at the vibrant colors that characterize this section of reef. The wall is painted with encrusting sponges in orange, red, and yellow, while iridescent chromis catch the sunlight as they feed in the water column above the reef crest. Large gorgonian sea fans extend from the wall face, their lattice structures backlit by the deep blue beyond. Trumpetfish hang motionless beside the sea rods, and black durgon triggerfish hover in small groups along the wall. Visibility averages 25-35 meters, allowing divers to appreciate the full sweep of color along the drop-off.
