Overview
Rick’s Refuge is a Roatan Marine Park mooring site in the Half Moon Bay corridor that offers a sense of seclusion along a well-developed section of wall. The reef top is broad and healthy, with stands of elkhorn coral fragments and dense gorgonian gardens providing cover for juvenile fish and invertebrates. The wall itself features several deep undercuts where marine life seeks shelter. and the wall’s encrusting sponges in red, orange, and purple create a vivid backdrop. The moderate depth and typically calm conditions make it a reliable choice when other sites may be affected by current or surge.
