The Church
16.2938°N 86.5668°W · wall
The Church is a wall dive site in Roatán, Caribbean.
Overview
The Church is an RMP mooring along the Sandy Bay wall, its name evoking the cathedral-like formations or arches found in the reef structure at this site. The wall drops from a shallow reef crest, and the vertical face is covered with gorgonians and large tube sponges. Angelfish of several species patrol the reef, and cleaning gobies set up stations on prominent coral heads. Groupers are commonly spotted under the larger overhangs. Visibility is typically 20 to 40 meters, with water temperatures between 26 and 29 degrees Celsius.
