Overview
Buddy’s Reef is the house reef of Buddy Dive Resort, Bonaire’s largest dive operation, situated on the central west coast north of Kralendijk. The site offers what Bonaire’s central coast reefs do consistently well: a gradual slope from shallow water into a healthy coral reef system with steady fish diversity, calm conditions, and easy shore access. It is used heavily as a first-dive orientation site for newly-arrived guests and as a convenient warm-up or night dive.

Marine Life
Typical central Bonaire reef species: parrotfish, angelfish, surgeonfish, grunts, snapper, and sergeant majors populate the reef face. Moray eels and groupers hold territory in reef crevices. Turtles are seen along this stretch of coast. The shallow sections are active during dawn and dusk periods.
Dive Profile
Enter from the resort beach and follow the reef slope outward. The shallow shelf transitions to the main reef and slope at around 6–9 metres. Most productive marine life is in the 8–20 metre range. The reef continues to 30 metres on the slope.

Sandy and rocky beach entry from Buddy Dive Resort. The resort’s dock makes gear staging convenient. Exit at the same point.

Safety
A beginner-appropriate site with no significant hazards. Monitor boat traffic near the resort dock area when surfacing.

La Machaca is immediately south. Cliff and Andrea II are nearby to the north. Bari Reef (Sand Dollar Resort) is also in the same area.
