Corporal Meiss

Also known as North Belnem — a central Bonaire shore reef between Bachelor’s Beach and Windsock, with easy conditions and straightforward access from the coastal road.

Overview

Corporal Meiss (alt. name: North Belnem) is a central Bonaire shore site on the lower west coast, in the busy dive belt south of Kralendijk between Windsock and Bachelor’s Beach. The site shares the fringing reef character of the central west coast: easy shore entry, a gradual reef slope, and calm conditions typical of Bonaire’s protected leeward side. It is used frequently as a between-dives fill-in site or a morning warm-up given its accessible location.

Marine Life

Standard central Bonaire reef community: parrotfish, angelfish, grunts, snapper, and groupers on the reef slope. Turtles are seen along this stretch of coast. Macro subjects in the encrusting reef.

Dive Profile

Shore entry and gradual reef slope. Most productive life in the 8–20 metre range. Sandy bottom at depth.

Shore entry via standard western coast ironshore. Exit at the same point.
