Nukove

Also known as Doblet — a northern Bonaire shore reef south of Washington-Slagbaai, accessible by paved road with excellent reef health and a narrow channel entry.

Overview

Nukove (also called Doblet by some operators) is one of the northernmost accessible shore dives on Bonaire’s paved coastal road — south of the Washington-Slagbaai National Park area. The site is notable for a narrow channel cut through the ironshore that serves as the entry point, leading divers directly onto the reef. The northern location means less traffic and reliably excellent water quality. The reef here is typical of northern Bonaire: high coral diversity, good fish populations, and clear water.

Marine Life

Northern Bonaire reef species with good diversity: parrotfish, angelfish, groupers, snappers, turtles, and grunts. The healthy reef supports the typical Caribbean assemblage with some larger individuals compared to the busier southern sites.

Dive Profile

Enter through the ironshore channel and immediately reach the reef. Standard fringing reef slope to 30 metres. Most of the reef life is in the 8–20 metre zone.

Entry and Exit

The ironshore channel entry requires care — enter feet-first and be aware of the narrow sides. Exit at the same point.

Tips

• The channel entry is the distinctive feature — take care on entry with tank and fins
• The paved road access makes this one of the easier northern sites to reach without 4WD
• Combine with Carel’s Vision or Taylor Made for a northern coast dive day

Safety

The channel entry requires attention. Standard fringing reef dive otherwise.

Carel’s Vision and Taylor Made are nearby. Boka Slagbaai is further north (inside the park). Karpata is to the south.
