Overview

Weber’s Joy (also called Witches Hut by some operators and dive guides) is a northern Bonaire shore site located near the junction where the coastal road curves toward the national park area. The site offers a classic Bonaire reef profile with a gradual inner shelf transitioning to a steeper outer slope reaching 40 metres. The northern location and the distance from Kralendijk mean this site sees less traffic than the popular central and southern sites, giving it a quieter character. It is frequently combined with Jeff Davis Memorial and Boka di Tolo as part of a northern shore-dive day.

Marine Life

Northern Bonaire reefs support healthy fish populations typical of lightly-visited sites: parrotfish, angelfish, grunts, snappers, and groupers. Turtles are regularly seen. Barracuda patrol the outer slope. The coral cover includes hard coral formations and soft coral on the deeper sections.

Dive Profile

Shore entry and swim to the reef edge. The shallow shelf gives way to a steeper outer slope. Most of the productive diving is in the 12–25 metre range; the slope continues to 40 metres for those managing depth carefully. Plan gas for the return with a safety stop in the shallows.

Tips

• The 40m maximum depth means intermediate gas planning is required
• Combine with Jeff Davis Memorial or Boka di Tolo for a productive northern coast day

Nearby Sites

Jeff Davis Memorial is immediately to the south along the same coastal road. Boka di Tolo is nearby. Karpata is a short drive further north.
