Azra is a dive site in Red Sea, Middle East.

Overview

Azra is a dive site at coordinates 26.627°N, 34.001°E, placing it on the central Red Sea coast approximately 3–5 km north of El Quseir town, in the narrow coastal band between the town and the main El Quseir reef system. The El Quseir area is known for its diverse dive sites: coral-covered pinnacles (ergs) on sandy slopes, wall dives, canyon systems, and cavern areas — all within short distances of the coast road. The site name “Azra” does not appear in major English-language dive databases for El Quseir, suggesting it may be a locally used name or a transliteration of an Arabic topographic term.

No site-specific dive documentation was located for Azra. The following reflects the general character of the El Quseir reef system at this location.

El Quseir reefs are described by local operators as “uncrowded and pristine” — the town has only a few dive centres compared to Hurghada, limiting boat traffic. The reef system features up to 50 dive sites within easy reach, including sites with more than 40 coral pinnacles on a shallow plateau (10–15 m) and deeper walls. Marine life typical of El Quseir includes parrotfish, triggerfish, moray eels, crocodile fish, lionfish, scorpionfish, blue-spotted stingrays, Napoleon wrasse, barracuda, whitetip reef sharks, and guitar sharks. Shore or boat access depending on exact site position.
