Overview

Fleck Reef is a dive site at coordinates 24.560°N, 35.170°E, placing it in the Wadi Gimal area of the southern Red Sea, approximately 40 km north of Hamata and just offshore from the Wadi el Gemal National Park coastline. This area of the Egyptian coast hosts an extensive shallow reef plateau system — the Wadi Gimal Plateau — with 29 documented dive sites within 5–45 minutes’ boat ride, including outer reefs (Habili sites) at 50–90 minutes. The name “Fleck Reef” does not appear in major dive databases for this area, suggesting it may be a locally used designation or a transliteration of an Arabic topographic term.
