Makabi

Makabi is a dive site in the southern Egyptian Red Sea at approximately 24.30°N, 35.42°E, placing it in the coastal reef zone between Marsa Alam and Hamata near the Lahami Bay area. The name “Makabi” does not appear in major published dive guides or operator site lists for this region; it may be a small locally-named reef, a minor site in the Fury Shoals approach zone, or an OSM entry for a reef without widely available English-language documentation.
Overview
The coastal zone at 24.3°N in the Egyptian Red Sea encompasses the transition between the Marsa Alam dive area and the Hamata / Fury Shoals system. Reefs in this zone are characterised by the pristine conditions typical of Egypt’s deep south: low dive traffic, high water clarity, and well-preserved coral communities. No site-specific descriptions were found from local operators in extensive searching.
