Marsa Salim is a bay reef dive site in the far southern Egyptian Red Sea at approximately 23.91°N, 35.49°E, in the Hamata / Fury Shoals area north of Ras Banas.
Overview
The coordinates of Marsa Salim place it in the deep southern Red Sea between the Fury Shoals reef chain and the Egyptian mainland coast, in the Wadi el-Gemal National Park zone. “Marsa” means bay in Arabic, indicating a sheltered coastal inlet. This section of the Egyptian Red Sea is lightly visited compared to the north, and the Fury Shoals reefs — accessed either by day boat from Hamata or by liveaboard — are among the most pristine in Egypt.
