Overview
If this coordinate point is valid as a separate site, it falls in the offshore reef zone between Hurghada and Safaga. The documented Middle Reef (Safaga) is a large mushroom-shaped offshore reef rising almost perpendicularly from 30 m depth with outstanding hard coral gardens — rated among the finest brain coral formations in the entire Red Sea. The south side features caves and tunnels. Schools of tuna, barracuda, turtles, eagle rays, and occasional reef sharks are documented at the main Middle Reef.
