Ras Peter

Ras Peter (also known as Tank Garden or Tank Reef) is a wreck dive site in the Hurghada/Safaga area of the Egyptian Red Sea at approximately 27.85°N, 34.29°E, featuring submerged military vehicles on the seabed.

Overview

Ras Peter is a unique historical dive site where a collection of submerged military tracked vehicles and support vehicles — together with at least one unexploded landmine — rest on the seafloor at 34–40 m depth. Despite corrosion from their time underwater, many of the vehicles remain remarkably intact, with some still upright. The site is recommended for advanced divers due to the significant depth.

The identity and history of the vehicles and how they came to rest here is not widely documented in the public record. The site appears to pre-date the deliberately sunk Hurghada Underwater Military Museum (created 2023), and represents historical military equipment rather than an artificial reef project.
