Skawarit is a coral reef dive site in the deep south Red Sea, near the Wadi El Gemal National Park / Hamata area (lat 24.36, lng 35.40). The coordinates cluster closely with the Siyul Island group (Siyul at 24.38, Siyul South at 24.37) and Arba Reef (24.31), suggesting Skawarit is another reef within the same Qulaan Archipelago zone of Wadi El Gemal National Park.
Overview
The Skawarit reef sits in the Wadi El Gemal National Park marine protected area, a zone characterised by pristine reef conditions, limited dive traffic, and colossal table corals. Approximately 30 dive sites exist within the national park, most accessible by boat from Hamata. The national park’s southern Egyptian Red Sea setting produces diverse and healthy reef communities with approximately 450 coral species and over 1,200 fish species documented in the broader park ecosystem. No specific English-language dive documentation for “Skawarit” as a named site was found.
