Styphano 2 is a reef site in the southern Red Sea within the Fury Shoals region, located approximately 2 km south of Styphano 1 — likely a distinct section or orientation of the same larger named reef structure.
Overview
The coordinates (lat 23.53, lon 35.80) place this site in the Fury Shoals reef system south of Marsa Alam. At 2 km separation from Styphano 1, these two entries may represent the north and south ends of a single elongated reef, or two adjacent reef structures within the same local area. Neither site is documented by name in widely available English-language dive guides.
The Fury Shoals comprise approximately 20 reefs in a 30 km arc, offering some of Egypt’s most pristine coral due to limited diver access (primarily liveaboard). Sites in this region feature hard coral heads rising to the surface, sheltered lagoon habitats, occasional small wrecks on reef edges, and diverse reef fish communities.
