Torfet Zeyad

The name follows the local Egyptian naming convention for reef points (“torfet” = promontory or cape), and the site lies within the broader Marsa Alam reef zone known for healthy fringing reefs and diverse marine life.

The coordinates place Torfet Zeyad in the southern Red Sea near Port Ghalib, in a region characterised by well-preserved fringing reefs, sandy bays, and offshore reef systems. The area encompasses a number of similarly-named “torfet” sites (reef extensions and promontory dive spots), with the Giftun National Park and broader Marsa Alam marine reserve providing protection to the surrounding reefs.
