Entrence 155

Entrence 155 is a numbered reef mooring point and dive entry in North Male Atoll, part of the systematically organised outer reef access network used by Male-based dive operators.

Overview

Entrence 155 is one of the outermost numbered entry positions in this cluster, providing access to a section of outer reef slope exposed to stronger tidal currents than the base and lower-numbered entries nearby. The reef at this position features well-developed soft coral growth on the mid-slope faces that receive the most current, along with hard coral tables and branching formations on the upper crest. The deeper reaches of the slope transition to a more vertical wall profile, with overhangs sheltering glass fish clouds and hunting lionfish. Pelagic species such as eagle rays and big-eye trevally are regularly encountered at depth on the outer face. The slightly more northern position in the cluster can receive different current angles from the adjacent numbered sites, making dive conditions here subtly distinct — particularly appealing when the current favours the outer wall from the oceanic side.

Marine Life

Eagle rays, big-eye trevally, lionfish, glass fish, grey reef sharks, soft corals and sea fans on current-exposed faces, moray eels, parrotfish, and hawksbill turtles.

Tips for Divers

The outer face of Entrence 155 can experience stronger current than the nearby base and 110 sites, so check conditions before committing to the exposed wall. If current is running, working the sheltered down-current face is productive and more comfortable. Combine with a deeper pelagic pass at 20-25 meters on entry for the best chance of eagle ray encounters.
