Overview

Ka-Osting / Bantigue is a coral reef slope running along the western side of Malapascua, named after a local fisherman and the small barangay nearby. The reef descends gradually from the shallows to about 22 meters and is lined with hard coral formations interspersed with cleaning stations where sweetlips and surgeonfish queue up for attendant wrasses. Sea turtles frequently rest on the coral heads here, and the site’s relatively sheltered position makes it a dependable dive when northeast winds stir up conditions elsewhere.

Marine Life

Ka-Osting / Bantigue is a relaxed reef dive characterised by active cleaning stations where sweetlips and surgeonfish queue for attendant wrasses, providing close-up behavioural encounters at mid-depth. Sea turtles frequently rest on the coral heads here, and the sheltered position keeps the fish community relatively undisturbed and approachable. Reef fish diversity is high throughout the slope, with schools of snapper, groups of parrotfish, and nudibranchs scattered across the rubble sections.
