Overview
Lighthouse is a wall dive at the northeastern tip of Malapascua, directly below the old lighthouse that marks the island’s windward corner. The wall drops sharply from 5 meters to beyond 30, its face encrusted with sea fans, crinoids, and rope sponges that provide a colourful backdrop for the hawksbill turtles that frequently cruise by. Current can be significant here given the exposed point, but that same current draws in thresher sharks from deeper water, making early morning dives particularly productive for pelagic encounters.

Marine Life
Lighthouse is a rewarding wall for pelagic encounters, with hawksbill turtles cruising the sea fan- and crinoid-draped wall face as a near-constant presence. The exposed point draws thresher sharks from deeper water on early morning dives, particularly when current is running, and grey reef sharks and barracuda are regular mid-water visitors. Crevices in the wall shelter moray eels, lionfish, and smaller reef fish that provide macro interest between the bigger-animal sightings.
